Henri Joosten has had to change his whole driving routine in his new Pro Mod. Micke Kågered expressed himself very happy with the new set-up in the Bahco Tools Top Fuel Dragster. Marc Meihuizen's Pro Mod ran along the centre line on his first pass today... ...but US Pro Mod racer Chris Russo and the team worked on some chassis adjustments and the car launched straight on its subsequent passes. Micke Gullquist hit instant shake on his first run in the Chevy-Hemi powered Pro Mod but had a much better launch on the next pass. Urban Johansson clocked a 6.414/227.50 in his Pro Mod but a late chute deployment sent him s short way into the field at the end of the track. Fred Hanssen is doing a good job of Super Comp by the Paul Ingar Udtian method: no electronics, just use your brain and right foot. Paul Ingar himself put in a storming run early this morning and he and the Q8 Oils-sponsored team spent the rest of the day grinning. This afternoon we had a visit from the Dakota of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, who will be here on two days next weekend. Mark Flavell blasted into the sevens on his first full pass in the Steel River Hot Rod Super Pro ET Funny Car. This three-wheeled machine came all the way from Germany and peeled some rubber in the burnout box. Augy Harrison has been around drag racing a long time, we only wish we looked as young as he does. Maja Udtian put in several passes in her Junior Stock Dragster and got into the twelves. Dave Day told us that he was very happy with this weekend's testing in the Super Comp/Gas roadster. John Hackney and Joe Elliott regularly run against one another at Run What You Brungs to hone their Supertwin ET skills. Billy Everitt made his first runs of the year in his Junior Stock Dragster. Roger Goring pulled off a cracking 6.075 in the Firestorm Jet FC, not far to the fives now Roger! Mick Howling gave a number of passenger rides in the Grumpy's Dodge Super Gasser. Andy Haley was one of a number of 9.50 Bike racers here this weekend. Some of the Street Racer guys are packing serious kit and running deep into the nines. Ken Cooper exercised dynamic lane choice on one run but ran straight on his other passes. Phil Pratt got into the 9.1s on his 9.50 Bike. Garry Bowe set new Personal Bests for ET and speed on his Super Street Bike. Sandra Chaplain has a new bike waiting in the wings but will be running the Think Pink Comp Bike next weekend. Wayne Saunders got in the occasional run on his 9.50 Bike but son Josh had most of the track time today. This little red 'Vette looked good and produced the numbers. Return to Event Index
